ORACIÓN DE UN NIÑO

A CHILD’S PRAYER

Señor: no quiero pedirte nada especial ni inalcanzable como ocurre con otros niños que se dirigen a ti cada noche; tú que eres bueno y proteges a todos los niños de esta tierra, hoy quiero pedirte un gran favor sin que se enteren mis padres: Transfórmame en un televisor para que mis padres me cuiden como cuidan a su televisor, Para que me miren con el mismo interés con que mi madre mira su teleserie preferida o mi padre su programa deportivo. Quiero sentir sobre mi la preocupación que experimentan mis padres cuando el televisor empieza a fallar y rápidamente llaman al técnico. Quiero hablar como ciertos animadores que cuando lo hacen, toda la familia calla para escucharlos con atención, sin interrumpirlos. Deseo ver a mi madre suspirar frente a mi como lo hace cuando ve los trajes de la última liquidación o ver reír a mi padre cuando aparece el humorista o comediante de moda; o simplemente que me crean cuando les cuento mis historias de fantasías diciendo: ¡Es cierto! Yo lo vi en la tele.

Lord: Tonight I beg you something special: Turn me into a TV set because I’d like to have the place it has in my house: · To have an special room for me, · Reunite all my family members around me, · Being the attention center and everybody wants to hear me without being interrupted or questioned, · Be taken seriously when I speak, · Have the special cares that TV set receives when something doesn’t work, · To have my father’s company when he arrives home, even he is tired for work, · That my mom looks for me when she is alone and bored; instead of ignore me, · That my brothers fight for stay with me, · Give fun to all of them, even though sometimes I tell them nothing, · To live the sensation that all others left everything to spend some moments at my side, My Lord: I’m not begging you too much; any TV has all this fancies.
